HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik GmbH develops and manufactures high-performance CNC machining centres and automation solutions “Made in Germany”. Since the company was founded in 1967, the focus has been on practical solutions for economical and precise machining. The machine portfolio includes 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis machining centres for single-part production as well as small and medium-sized batches.

With the ACURA, TILTENTA and FORTE series, HEDELIUS offers different machine concepts for a wide range of machining tasks.

The compact 5-axis machining centres of the ACURA series feature a double-supported rotary-swivel table and combine high precision and performance density with a small footprint. They are particularly suitable for complex single parts and small batches as well as applications involving frequent changes between different components. Thanks to excellent access to the working area and various automation options, manual and automated production processes can be combined flexibly.

The TILTENTA series is designed for the flexible machining of long, large and heavy workpieces. The combination of moving-column design, continuously swivelling main spindle, long machine tables and an integrated NC rotary table enables both 3-axis and 5-axis machining. Applications include plates, frames, crossbeams, shafts, profiles, welded constructions and complex 5-axis workpieces. Long travel ranges and a variety of clamping and automation options provide additional flexibility in single-part and small-batch production.

With the TILTENTA MILLTURN, HEDELIUS expands this machine concept to include combined milling and turning. As the first HEDELIUS machining centre of its kind, the MILLTURN combines 5-axis milling and turning in a single machine. Complex workpieces can therefore be machined in one setup, reducing reclamping operations and non-productive times.

The FORTE series focuses on economical and precise 3-axis machining. The vertical moving-column machining centres with fixed machine tables are suitable for applications such as plates, mould frames, fixtures, as well as long and heavy workpieces. The portfolio ranges from compact machines to long-bed machining centres with large travel ranges. Large tool magazines, excellent access to the working area and a machine concept designed for efficient chip removal support productive manufacturing.

Another key focus at HEDELIUS is the automation of CNC machining centres. With the MARATHON series, HEDELIUS offers its own solutions for pallet and workpiece automation. The aim is to generate additional productive spindle hours and enable machines to be used economically during low-staff or unattended periods, for example at night or over the weekend. The systems are matched to HEDELIUS machining centres and, depending on the application, enable the automation of single parts, repeat parts, and small to medium-sized batches.

The automation portfolio ranges from compact pallet storage systems to multi-pallet and hybrid solutions through to heavy-duty automation. With the MARATHON LR810, HEDELIUS extends automation to large and heavy workpieces. The linear storage system offers up to ten pallet positions in the 800 × 800 mm format and is designed for a transfer weight of up to 2,000 kg. In combination with the TILTENTA 9-2600 MARATHON, large workpieces can be machined automatically. At the same time, side loading keeps the front of the machine fully accessible, allowing manual machining and automated production to be combined.

Another major focus at HEDELIUS is manufacturer-independent automation. Preconfigured standard interfaces are available for solutions from providers including INDUNORM, RoboJob, BMO, LANG and PROMOT. The EL series is designed so that suitable automation solutions can be connected easily to the machining centre. Side loading preserves full access to the working area for manual single-part production as well as setup and inspection tasks. To support optimal automation planning, HEDELIUS also provides the automation supplier with 3D machine data so that accessibility and possible interference contours can be checked during the planning phase.

In the development of machines and automation solutions, HEDELIUS focuses not only on precision and productivity, but also on ergonomics, accessibility, setup optimisation and practical day-to-day operation. Large tool magazines, zero-point clamping technology, automation interfaces and various equipment options allow the machining centres to be adapted to different production requirements.

The HEDELIUS CNC Academy also provides practical training courses for CNC programmers and machine operators. The training programme covers topics ranging from 3-axis to 5-axis machining and can be carried out both at the training centre and individually at the customer’s site.
