HEDELIUS presents its heavy-duty automation premiere at AMB 2026
HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik GmbH is presenting three automation solutions for different requirements in single-part and small-batch production at AMB in Stuttgart. The highlight is the premiere of the new heavy-duty automation system MARATHON LR810.
“Those currently investing expect more than just a machine,” says Dennis Hempelmann, Managing Director of HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik GmbH. “Solutions are in demand that increase productivity, make processes more predictable, and keep companies competitive in the long term. We will be showcasing precisely this approach at AMB 2026.”
Premiere in heavy-duty automation
This year’s highlight is the premiere of the MARATHON LR810, with which HEDELIUS expands its automation portfolio to include a new performance class. The linear rack is designed for ten pallets in the 800 x 800 mm format and a transfer weight of up to 2,000 kg. For the first time, workpieces with clamping heights of up to 1,240 mm can be handled automatically and machined economically.
The system will be presented in combination with the TILTENTA 9-2600 MARATHON long-bed machining center. With travel distances of 2,600 x 900 x 900 mm, the machine is suitable for machining both long components and large cubic workpieces.
The underlying manufacturing concept is particularly noteworthy: While automated production takes place outside of regular shift hours, the machine front remains fully accessible during the day. Complex geometries, long or heavy components, and high-precision machining operations can still be set up from the front and machined manually. This allows automated cycle times and manual machining processes to be combined as needed.
"Many of our customers are looking for ways to increase machine availability, especially for large and heavy workpieces" says Dennis Hempelmann. "That is precisely why we developed the MARATHON LR810. The system extends the possibilities of automation to a range of workpieces that previously often had to be handled manually."
