Precise drag finishing for defined edges, high-quality surfaces and reproducible processing.

Precision Finishing for Demanding Components: When high demands are placed on surface quality and defined edges, drag finishing offers a precise method for mechanical surface treatment. In drag finishing, workpieces are moved through an abrasive or polishing medium in a controlled manner. This allows for surface treatment, edge rounding, burr removal, and – depending on the material, initial condition, and desired result – achieving various surface qualities. MWIB uses this process particularly for high-quality and geometrically complex components. Unlike conventional vibratory finishing, the workpieces can be held individually. This prevents uncontrolled contact between the components – a significant advantage for sensitive workpieces and demanding surface finish requirements. Precisely calibrated process parameters ensure that the treatment is reproducibly tailored to the specific task. Typical applications include: • Deburring and rounding edges • Smoothing and refining surfaces • Removing machining marks • Preparation for subsequent coating or finishing processes • Finishing high-quality precision components. The process is suitable for various metallic materials and is aimed at companies in mechanical engineering, medical technology, optics, precision mechanics, and mechatronics, among others.
