High-speed control for EtherCAT: MotionLinx-Ai connects two 24V drives with precise real-time control.

The MotionLinx-Ai 24V is a compact, two-zone, high-speed controller for 24V motor spindles and gearmotors. Designed specifically for EtherCAT networks, it offers machine builders a powerful solution for applications that require fast communication, precise motion control, and real-time capability.

The controller can independently control up to two Senergy-Ai motor spindles or PGD-Ai gearmotors. Additionally, up to four sensors can be integrated via two M8 connectors. As a result, the MotionLinx-Ai combines drive control and sensor technology in a single compact unit, reducing the installation space required.

A particular advantage for machine builders is the direct integration into EtherCAT control architectures. The high communication speed enables fast response times and is particularly well-suited for real-time applications and complex motion sequences. Configuration is performed using standardized EtherCAT Service Data Objects (SDO). No proprietary software is required. This simplifies integration into existing machine designs and increases flexibility in system design.

The MotionLinx-Ai also offers advantages for predictive maintenance concepts: Operational and diagnostic data can be retrieved via SDO. This allows condition information to be used for preventive maintenance and potential failures to be detected early.

The compact housing matches the form factor of the ConveyLinx-Ai2, enabling a standardized design and space-saving installation in the side frame. The IP54 protection rating ensures reliable operation in industrial environments.
