Digital material procurement worldwide and cost-effectively - prices and availability in real time

With interfaces to major distributors, we create reliability, security, and flexibility in material logistics for our customers. The procurement of printed circuit boards, electronic components, and much more is a central aspect of electronics manufacturing. Many customers have already outsourced the procurement of these items to us, and our purchasing department handles it digitally through a global supplier network. Customers can also provide their own components, which we process ourselves. The heart of digital material procurement is our own Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which supports our purchasing department in controlling and managing demand, costs, and delivery dates, as well as providing an overview of our procurement efforts.

    2. Digital Process Optimization

      Digital Process Optimization

When orders change, information has to be searched for first, or workflows are maintained in duplicate, digital processes end up taking more time than they save. We take a close look at where work becomes unnecessarily complicated in everyday operations: in coordination between sales, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and administration; during manual handoffs; or with systems that aren’t being used to their full potential. From there, we develop practical improvements that fit within existing structures. Digital processes must make work easier, speed up decision-making, and actually work in day-to-day operations.

    3. Digitale Sensoren und Lösungen für die Maschinenüberwachung

Digitale Sensoren und Lösungen für die Maschinenüberwachung

DIGITAL INTEGRATION OF SENSORS FOR SIMPLIFIED, INDUSTRIAL MACHINE MONITORING In line with market requirements and with a view to future developments, PCB Piezotronics, as a long-standing and established manufacturer of piezoelectric sensors, is also a provider of digital solutions. Especially in today's rapidly developing world of networked machines, systems, actuators and sensors, the ability to integrate data from the field application (process) and analyze the enormous amounts of data has never been more important. PCB® offers a variety of digital sensors and system solutions that optimize machine and process monitoring. With the condition monitoring data obtained the appropriate maintenance measures can then be taken.

    4. Digitalisation in manufacturing: Location-independent real-time monitoring with IoT, MES & digital twin

Digitalisation in manufacturing: Location-independent real-time monitoring with IoT, MES & digital twin

The foundations of a smart factory are interconnected machines, plants and IT systems that exchange information (e.g. machine statuses, malfunctions, temperature, power consumption, order data) via the internet (Internet of Things - IoT). By collecting, bundling and analysing this data with the help of an MES system, companies are able to monitor their manufacturing process in real time, regardless of location, and detect maintenance cases at an early stage. The prerequisite for this is the linking of the company's IT systems. Monitoring can be done even better with the help of a digital twin. This corresponds to the 3D image of a machine or entire production environment and is based on the associated design data. Enriched with sensor data from machines (e.g. temperature, pressure) and information from other IT systems (ERP, PDM, MES system), the design data becomes a dynamic image that combines real machine parameters and key production figures in real time. The sensor technology can be already present in machines or retrofitted within the scope of a retrofit with the help of IoT gateways in a cost-effective and time-saving manner. Possible applications and advantages of IoT and digital twin: - Clear real-time monitoring for monitoring and optimisation of own or customer-implemented machines and production environments. - Early detection of problems, wear or maintenance cases and predictive elimination (predictive maintenance) - Clear display of real-time KPIs as a basis for timely and informed business decisions - Process automation with the help of workflows - Tools for quality assurance and thus increasing productivity and process reliability We support you in analysis, consulting and implementation. 5. Digitalisation in purchasing: Digital collaboration with internal and external partners

Digitalisation in purchasing: Digital collaboration with internal and external partners

Purchasing is one of the company processes or areas with the most interfaces inside and outside the company and is characterised by increasingly complex activities. Digitalisation in purchasing (Purchasing 4.0) therefore offers numerous opportunities and is a milestone on the way to the holistic digitalisation of a company. Behind this is the digital networking of procurement processes and data with internal and external partners (e.g. design, assembly, suppliers, etc.). The prerequisite for this is a continuous data flow that can be realised through interconnected IT systems (e.g. ERP and CAD systems). What are the challenges in traditional purchasing? - Time-consuming and error-prone routine tasks - Lengthy procurement processes with high process costs - Information exchange with internal and external partners often characterised by system breaks, paper documents and manual activities - Problems with cooperation across different locations and working hours What opportunities does Purchasing 4.0 offer? - Networked IT systems ensure less manual effort through standardisation and automation - Digital data and document exchange with process participants in real time - Consolidation of information and data from all parties involved ensures a reliable database and process transparency - Reduction of errors, process cycle times and process costs - Achievement of better purchase prices ensures competitive advantages - Enables time and location-independent collaboration We support you in analysing, advising and implementing Purchasing 4.0. 6. Digitalisation in the sales and quotation process: Simply win more business

Digitalisation in the sales and quotation process: Simply win more business

Are you also faced with the challenge of responding to numerous customised requests within a short period of time, within the customer's budget and thus competitively? Innovative software and automation solutions make it possible here to serve the customer's requirements individually and on time. Particularly important is the individual visualisation of the requested products in the quotation process. In order to save time, customer enquiries can, for example, be automatically designed at the push of a button and in different variants through CAD automation in combination with a product configurator. In addition, drawings and parts lists are automatically created and saved within a few moments, which can then be forwarded to the prospective customer with a concrete offer. In addition, offers can be supplemented with impressive 3D visualisations, which are easily made available to the customer digitally via cloud-based online platforms. The central management of product and company data also plays an important role for customer-specific and convincing offers. With the help of a central database, designers can find and reuse similar designs that already exist. In addition, it enables sales to retrieve design documents (e.g. drawings, visualisations) as well as prices and availabilities at short notice and independent of location for interested parties. Through automation and digitalisation in the quotation process, you will inspire your customers and prospects and be one step ahead of the competition.
