With the ReBeL, igus fully utilizes its motion plastics expertise: The use of plastic makes the robot with a net weight of 8.2 kilograms the lightest service robot with cobot function in its class. All mechanical components that make up the ReBeL are developed and manufactured by igus without exception. The heart is the world’s first cobot gear made of plastic suitable for industrial use. igus has also applied its motion plastics know-how to the power electronics and for the first time developed an encoder with the help of conductive plastic tracks. This allows the number of rotations, cycles, temperature and power to be measured precisely. Thanks to a cloud connection with webcam, a dashboard displays all generated data live.
