Shafts, rollers and sleeves are often critical wear and functional parts in production equipment. Their performance depends not only on dimensions, but on the combination of material, heat treatment, fits, surface finish and runout.
BAAS manufactures these components to customer drawings, from one-off parts to small batches, for maintenance and repeat spare-parts requirements as well as new machinery.
Depending on the design, production can include turning, milling of flats and keyways, drilling, threading and cylindrical grinding, together with coordinated heat and surface treatment. Components requiring several manufacturing steps are supplied fully machined, inspected and ready to install. Lengths up to 3,500 mm are possible.
Typical materials include quenched and tempered and tool steels, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. Material traceability and measurement reports are available on request.
