Edge finishing

Edge breaking or edge rounding: safe, burr-free edges, straight after laser cutting.

Laser-cut sheet metal has sharp edges and fine burrs. Edge finishing removes them, so your parts are safe to handle. It matters for function too: in industries such as food processing and chemicals, burr-free edges are important.

At 247TailorSteel, you choose between two processes: edge breaking and edge rounding. Both remove sharp edges, burrs and irregularities, but each changes the appearance of your parts in a different way. Edge breaking lightly takes off the sharp edge. Edge rounding gives the edge an even, rounded profile.

You select the edge finishing you need when you order on our Sophia® platform, and you see the price and delivery date straight away. Your parts are finished directly after laser cutting, in the same order.

Edge finishing takes place in our own production. Each of our production sites has at least two machines for it, 14 in total, including machines from Lissmac, Timesavers and Q-Fin.
