Thread cutting: New in our production process

By popular demand, we've integrated a greater level of vertical integration into our production process: thread cutting. You can easily add it to your order in Sophia®.

At 247TailorSteel, our developers work daily to further optimize our online software Sophia®. Customer requests play an important role in our innovations. A frequently requested service is thread cutting. This manufacturing step is now also available in our online software Sophia®. But what exactly is thread cutting and how does it work?

Thread cutting is the process of creating a thread in a pre-drilled hole. This makes it possible to firmly fix a screw or bolt in the material.

There are two methods for creating threads in components:

- Hand thread cutting
Hand thread cutting, as the name suggests, is done by hand. This method is usually chosen for small or individual holes where there is insufficient space (for movement) for tools.

- Machine thread cutting
Machine thread cutting is performed on threading tables. This method is mainly used for larger production runs.
The result of both methods is the same. However, machine thread cutting has advantages in terms of speed, precision, and efficiency. That's why we've expanded our machine park with threaded tables to meet customer demand.

Suitable for flat and curved sheet metal.
- Maximum product sizes of 1000x1000 mm or 2000x500 mm.
- Maximum product weight of 40 kg.
