SKALAR® X3000®: WIKUS saw blade in use on the world’s largest band saw

In Crugate near Milan, the world’s largest band saw machine was built for a customer. The portal band saw from our partner FRIGGI Cutting Solutions | Soitaab Impianti was equipped with the high-performance SKALAR® X3000® bimetal band saw blade from WIKUS.

The world’s largest band saw cuts workpieces with diameters of up to 5,100 mm. When selecting the right band saw blade, band saw manufacturer FRIGGI Cutting Solutions | Soitaab Impianti Srl chose the SKALAR® X3000®.

The high-performance band saw blades from Europe’s largest saw band manufacturer, WIKUS, is especially well-suited for machining high-strength materials such as forged tool steel blocks, titanium alloys, and highly alloyed austenitic materials. Even materials with a tensile strength exceeding 1,000 N/mm² pose no challenge. In the gantry saw from FRIGGI, the SKALAR® X3000® band saw blade is used in the following dimensions: 29,540 × 100 × 1.6 mm.
