High-precision calibration machines for force sensors – maximum accuracy, minimum measurement uncertainty
Regular calibration of force sensors ensures precise, reliable measured values and helps to detect measurement deviations early.
Why Regular Calibration Is Essential
No measuring instrument is drift-free. Over time, aging, load cycles, and environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and mechanical stress alter the measurement behavior of a force sensor. Regular calibrations enable the early detection of deviations and the minimization of measurement uncertainties.
Calibrating force cells requires a test system that exhibits extremely low measurement uncertainties. Hegewald & Peschke's specialized universal testing machines are designed precisely for this purpose: as fully-fledged calibration machines for the high-precision determination of force characteristic curves of force sensors according to international standards.
The machines are designed for both tensile and compressive calibrations and offer two completely separate work chambers. A reversing frame ensures that the reference force cell is loaded in only one direction – a crucial advantage, as no hysteresis occurs and the zero point does not need to be crossed. This is necessary to achieve accuracy classes 00 or 0.5 according to DIN EN ISO 376.
Furthermore, the calibration machines utilize high-precision reference force cells with two measuring bridges. One bridge serves for machine control, the second as a traceable reference signal. This allows force levels to be approached with extreme accuracy and fine-tuned using the calibration module of our LabMaster testing software.
Hegewald & Peschke offers calibration machines with a wide load range from 2.5 kN to 2500 kN. This enables the precise testing and traceable calibration of force cells from virtually all industrial applications – from sensitive sensors in electronic assemblies to high-load load cells used in presses, rolling mills, or crane systems.
