Sustainable Mobility and Damage Analysis at TH OWL
A wooden electric bike trailer meets smart damage analysis for sustainable, safe products.
The Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences (TH OWL) combines two approaches in a single demonstrator. On display is an electrically powered wooden bicycle trailer with an overrun brake that combines sustainable mobility with modern technology. This is complemented by a damage analysis that uses actual damaged components to show how material defects can be detected early on.
The demonstrator illustrates just how practical the university’s work is: on the one hand, it develops new concepts for climate-friendly mobility; on the other, it advances technologies for reliable quality control in industry. For small and medium-sized enterprises, this provides inspiration on how sustainability and efficiency can be equally integrated into products and processes.
