Industry 5.0 puts people at the center
Practical Industry 5.0: AI and automation support employees and strengthen sustainability and resilience.
With “Smart Transform 5.0 – Co-creative Transformation Toward Industry 5.0,” Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI), Institute for System Dynamics and Mechatronics (ISyM), demonstrates how small and medium-sized enterprises can shape the transition to Industry 5.0 in a practical way.
Especially in the face of economic pressure and a shortage of skilled workers, the project focuses on a human-centered approach. Modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation are intended to provide targeted support to employees rather than replace them.
Together with partners from academia and technology transfer, the project is developing concrete use cases and field-tested process models. These are intended to help companies embed environmental sustainability, resilience, and digitalization directly into their day-to-day operations.
