Plastic Compression Springs made of ULTEM™ Resin
LeeP™ is Lee Spring’s response to increased requests for springs that combine the strength of metal with the special attributes of high performance engineered thermoplastics. After years of extensive engineering design and materials research, Lee Spring’s technical team has developed this unique compression spring offering. LeeP™ springs are fabricated in distinctive formulations of Ultem* PEI resin, the material of choice for meeting LeeP’s specified criteria. LeeP Plastic Composite Springs are stocked in a variety of standard sizes, each available in a “rainbow” of strengths formulated from different Ultem* resins. The six increasing strengths are easily identifiable by distinct colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet. For other sizes, resins, or colors, Lee Spring has the advanced technology to provide Custom LeeP™ Compression Springs to meet the most exacting specifications.

Constan Force springs made of stainless flat rolled steel
The extension type of Constant Force Spring represents the most basic, yet most versatile, type of constant force spring. It is a pre-stressed flat strip of spring material which is formed into virtually constant radius coils around itself or on a drum. When the strip is extended (deflected) the inherent stress resists the loading force, the same as a common extension spring, but at a nearly constant (zero) rate. A constant torque is obtained when the outer end of the spring is attached to another spool and caused to wind in either the reverse or same direction as it is originally wound. The full rated load of the spring is reached after being deflected to a length equal to 1.25 times its diameter. Thereafter, it maintains a relatively constant force regardless of extension length. The load is basically determined by the thickness and width of the material and the diameter of the coil. Lee Spring offers Stock Constant Force Springs in four Life Cycle ranges: 2500, 4000, 13000 and 25000. Each spring is a roll of high yield Type 301 Stainless Steel strip exerting a nearly constant restraining force to resist uncoiling. We can also provide Custom Constant Force Springs, made to your specification.

Battery Springs
Battery springs, also known as contact springs, are used with batteries to maintain a consistent electrical connection between the battery's terminals and the device it powers. Battery springs are typically made of metal, such as steel, copper or brass, and are designed to exert a consistent force on the battery's terminals to ensure good electrical contact. When a device is connected to a battery, the battery springs compress slightly, bringing the terminals into contact with the device's electrical contacts. This allows electrical current to flow from the battery to the device, powering it. As the battery discharges, the springs may relax slightly, maintaining good contact between the terminals and the device's contacts. Battery springs are often found in devices that require a replaceable battery, such as flashlights, remote controls, and other small electronics. They are typically located inside the battery compartment and can be replaced if they wear out or become damaged. It's important to note that there are various types of battery springs with different geometries and materials, each having specific characteristics that make them suitable for different types of batteries and devices.
